SharePoint Installation (Share Point server 2010)

SharePoint server 2010 is very easy to install. It must be installed on windows 2008 Server SP2 (Service Pack2) or windows 2008 server R2 or server 2003. The Machine should have at least 8 G.B of memory with 64 bit processors in a production environment.
Please make sure to check system requirements for your server before installing SharePoint Server 2010.
The installation installs most of the software prerequisites. In most cases, you may simply download SharePoint server and run. Always starts the installation as Administrator. Right click the installation package and select “Run as Administrator”.
You must first begin by installing prerequisites, so click on “Install software prerequisites”. Link
Click next after installation of Prerequisites, Click next to Proceed.
The server will probably need to be restarted after the prerequisites have been verified or installed. Click "Finish" to restart.
After the server restarts, right click the SharePoint server 2010 installation package once again and select "Run as administrator". This time click the "Install SharePoint Server" link. If all the SharePoint components will reside on the same server then click the "Standalone" button. If components of SharePoint will be located on separate servers click the "Server Farm" button.
After SharePoint Server is finished installing, the "SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard" must run to setup and configure SharePoint. If the "Standalone" option was selected for the installation in the previous step, then a default site collection and web site will be created.
If the configuration wizard is successful, a new SharePoint web site is created and displayed.
If for some reason the configuration fails, try re-running the configuration wizard again. If it fails again, check the application event logs in the even viewer within "Administrator Tools" in Windows. In most cases, it'll be a permissions issue. You may also want to revisit the SharePoint requirements page, to download a hot fix.
